Setiap kali Ubuntu mengeluarkan versi terbaru, saya selalu kesulitan untuk mendapatkan resolusi display yang sempurna untuk laptop A*note Centurion C-9423 SV . ya ya ya sis memang sux untuk linux. kalian tau alasannya!!!
Resolusi display laptop saya selalu mentok di 800×600. Jelas saja ini mengganggu penglihatan saya yang lebih suka melihat display yang minimalis dengan monitor 14″.
cek dulu VGA anda apakah benar-benar sis 771/671??
# lspci |grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 771/671 PCIE VGA Display Adapter (rev 10)
Download driver VGA sis 771/671 disini dan file xorg.conf disini
Selanjutnya extract kedua file tersebut, kemudian untuk driver sis copykan ke folder
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/driver
Untuk file xorg.conf, berdasarkan referensi dari disini. Ternyata untuk xorg.conf-nya ditulis pada folder
# cp xorg.con /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/
maka, copykan file xorg.conf ke dalam folder tersebut.
Selanjutnya, restart laptop anda dan lihatlah hasilnya. Resolusi untuk display monitor sudah bisa dirubah sampe 1280×800 :d
